This new piece comes from one of India’s leading car manufacturers, Hyundai, which recently launched a more affordable variant of the Exter micro SUV. This also marks the brand’s expansion into the CNG world with the all-new Hyundai Exter Hy-CNG Duo.
This addition to Hyundai’s CNG portfolio makes the new Exter Hy-CNG Duo the most affordable factory-fitted CNG car in its segment, which now comes with a price tag of Rs 7.51 lakhs (Ex-showroom). Now, just so you don’t forget that previously, the Hyundai Exter CNG was launched with a price tag of Rs 8.50 Lakhs (ex-showroom). With that, the brand’s CNG lineup was only being offered starting from the mid-spec S variant, and now, with the launch of the 2025 Hyundai Exter Hy-CNG duo, Hyundai is set to offer the CNG variant with its base-level E trim. This expands Hyundai’s horizon to new potential buyers and makes the Exter more affordable.

While addressing the launch of the New 2025 Hyundai Exter CNG Duo, Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, “At HMIL, we are committed to offering smart mobility solutions that cater to the evolving needs of our customers. The introduction of the EX variant in the Hyundai EXTER Hy-CNG Duo lineup is a testament to our customer-centric approach, ensuring that smart mobility is accessible to a wider audience. With its efficient bi-fuel technology, enhanced safety features, and Hyundai’s signature reliability, the EXTER Hy-CNG Duo EX variant offers an optimal balance of affordability and efficiency. As we continue to expand our green mobility portfolio, we remain dedicated to providing innovative and value-driven solutions to our customers.”
- On the feature and the mechanical front, the new Hyundai Exter CNG continues to boast its existing list of comforts and power numbers.
- It still has the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine, which is capable of generating 68 bhp of peak power and 95.2 Nm of peak torque when run on CNG.
- The new CNG variant of the 2025 Exter comes with a single 5-speed manual configuration promising up to 27.1 km/kg of fuel efficiency on a full tank.
- The features and the competitor list of the Exter CNG remain the same as it continues to batter the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Renault Kwid, Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Fronx among others.
