Maruti Suzuki introduced the 4th generation Swift a few months ago, initially offering it with only a petrol powertrain and hinting that a CNG variant would follow soon. The wait for the Swift CNG is nearly over, as the automaker’s website now details about the new Swift with S-CNG technology.

Most of Maruti’s models in India offer a CNG powertrain option, and the new Swift will soon be added to the lineup.. Maruti is expected to introduce the CNG option in multiple variants, responding to increasing competition from other automakers. Similar to other CNG models, the Swift CNG is unlikely to have any significant upgrades in terms of design or features.

The Swift CNG will continue to use the 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z12E engine, producing 82 PS of power and 112 Nm of torque in petrol mode. In CNG mode, there will be a drop in power and torque figures but a significant increase in fuel efficiency. It is expected that, like other Maruti cars, the Swift CNG will only be available with a manual transmission.
Price Expectation:
Based on Maruti’s pricing trends, the Swift CNG is expected to cost approximately ₹95,000 more than its petrol counterparts. Currently, the price range of the new Swift is between ₹6.49 lakh and ₹9.59 lakh. According to our dealer sources, unofficial bookings for the Swift CNG have also started.
