Within a week of the launch of MG Select stores in India, MG India also launched the Cyberster EV, priced at Rs. 74.99 lakhs. Even with this hefty price tag, the MG Cyberster EV is the most affordable electric roadster that is currently available in India. If you were lucky enough to book the car before it’s launch, you’ll get a discount of Rs. 2 lakhs. Here’s all you need to know about the electric roadster.
MG Cyberster EV: Exterior
It is not your usual car for sure. The Cyberster EV comes with a unique and modern design that is surely going to turn a lot of heads on the road. Standing in the front, you’ll see the petal-shaped LED projector headlights along with the LED DRLs. At the center, you’ll get the MG logo. You get a soft convertible rooftop as well.
As you get to the side, you’ll see the unique scissor doors on both sides, which add to the premium appeal of this roadster. You’ll also witness the 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
At the rear, you’ll see arrow-shaped LED taillights and an inverted U-shaped LED lightbar. A diffuser is also there, although it is more of a design element.
MG Cyberster EV: Interior and Features
MG Cyberster gets a premium red and black colored interior, with a driver-centric jet-like cockpit design. You get two sporty bucket-style seats that add to the overall sportiness of the Cyberster. There are two displays for the driver, a 7-inch and a 10.25-inch, that display all the necessary information related to the car. It also gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. You will get a separate touchscreen at the center console to control the AC. The flat-bottom steering wheel gets mounted controls along with a round dial for launch control. You will also get paddle shifters to adjust the level of regenerative braking. The Cyberster gets features like 6-way adjustable heated seats with memory function and an 8-speaker Bose audio system for enhanced comfort.
As for the safety features, along with the 4 airbags, ESC, and TPMS, the MG Cyberster is equipped with Level-2 ADAS that offers features like adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation assist, driver state monitoring, and much more.
MG Cyberster EV: Performance, Range, and Charging Time
The Cyberster EV is not just about looks; it performs like a roadster, too. It takes only 3.2 seconds to reach 100kmph from a standstill. The 2 electric motors on the this roadster are capable of producing a staggering 510 PS of power and a peak torque of 725 Nm. Along with this, the Cyberster has a claimed range of 580 km. The AWD drive train is surely going to offer you a thrill every time you press down that throttle. The top speed is capped at 200kmph.
As for the battery pack, it has a 77kWh battery that can be charged from 0 to 80% in less than 20 minutes with DC fast charging.
You can get the MG Cyberster EV at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 74.99 lakhs, although this price might change soon as it is an introductory pricing. As for the rivals, it does not have any direct rivals in the country, although it can lock horns with the likes of Tesla Model Y, BMW Z4, etc. that come in this price category.
