MG Windsor EV Launch Soon: Exterior Details Revealed

The MG Windsor EV, electric crossover utility vehicle (CUV), is set to launch on 11th September. As the launch date is approaching, MG has started unveiling more details about the exterior design and features of this highly anticipated vehicle. Based on the globally available Wuling Cloud EV, the Windsor EV shares several design elements and features with its international counterpart.

Recent teaser has revealed several key design features of the Windsor EV. The front of the vehicle sports the illuminated MG logo just below the connected LED DRLs. The front grille mentions the badging of Morris Garages below the logo. The LED projector headlights are housed separately and could feature automatic function.

On the side, the Windsor EV is equipped with 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and the Indian-spec version can also get flush-type door handles as available on the Cloud EV. The rear profile gets sleek connected tail lights enhancing the vehicle’s dynamic look.

Inside, the Windsor EV is packed with a large 15.6-inch infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, and rear AC vents. Additional features include steering-mounted controls, an automatic climate control system, and a panoramic glass roof. For added convenience, Windsor EV will also get a powered tailgate, and wireless phone charger.

One standout feature in Windsor EV is the “Sofa Mode,” which allows rear passengers to recline their seats up to 135 degrees, offering enhanced comfort for longer journeys.

Battery and Range

The recent teaser released by MG has revealed that charging provision will be available on the front fender. Internationally, the MG Windsor EV is available with a 50.6 kWh battery, powering a single motor that produces 136 PS and 200 Nm of torque. This setup offers a claimed range of up to 460 km under the CLTC cycle.

Safety and Performance

In terms of safety, the Windsor EV is expected to come well-equipped, potentially featuring 6 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, a 360-degree camera, and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).

Bookings Details

While bookings for the new crossover have not yet opened, the Windsor EV will be MG’s third electric vehicle offering in India.
