New Cars Launching In September 2024

With the festive season approaching, the automotive industry is gearing up for an exciting time. August was an excellent month for car enthusiasts with the launch of the Thar Roxx (the 5-door version of the Thar) and the introduction of a new segment to the mass market with two coupe-SUVs: the Tata Curvv EV and the Citroen Basalt. But the excitement doesn’t stop there! Like August, September is also packed with a host of car unveilings and launches. Here is the complete list of all the cars set to be launched in September:

Tata Curvv (Petrol/Diesel)

Tata Motors showcased its coupe-SUV, the Curvv, at the Bharat Mobility Show, where it was a highlight of the Tata Motors pavilion. During the event, Tata Motors announced that the Curvv would be available in both ICE (petrol and diesel) and electric versions. The EV version of the Curvv was launched in August, and now the wait for the ICE version is almost over, with the launch date approaching soon. The Curvv ICE (petrol and diesel) variants, is set to be officially launch on 2 September. The starting price for the Curvv ICE is expected to be around Rs 9.5 lakhs.

Mercedes is gearing up to launch its flagship electric SUV, the Maybach EQS 680, in the Indian market. This luxury SUV comes packed with premium features, including the MBUX Hyperscreen, multi-zone climate control, 64-color ambient lighting, twin 11.6-inch screens for rear passengers, and a 15-speaker Burmester sound system. Safety is ensured with multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Under the hood, it gets a 107.8 kWh battery pack with dual motors, delivering 658 PS and 950 Nm of torque, and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds.

The long-awaited facelift of the Hyundai Alcazar is finally set to launch on September 9th. Hyundai has already unveiled the Alcazar facelift ahead of its release, showcasing a refreshed exterior design that includes connected LED DRLs with H-shaped elements, a revised front grille, redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels, and new LED tail lights setup. The updates don’t stop at the exterior; the interior is also getting a significant upgrade. Expect an all-new dashboard design, a dual-screen setup inspired by the Creta for the digital cluster and infotainment system, redesigned AC vents, and ventilated front and rear seats, among other enhancements. MG Windsor EV

MG Windsor EV

The MG Windsor EV, which has already been teased several times by MG Motor at different locations, is set to make its debut this month. It is essentially the same vehicle that is currently sold in global markets under the Wuling Cloud EV brand name. The official teasers released by MG has confirmed that Windsor EV will come loaded with features such as a big 15.6-inch infotainment system, full panoramic glass roof, rear seats with a sofa function that reclines up to 135 degrees, digital instrument cluster, six airbags (expected), advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and more. This electric crossover from MG Motor is expected to launch at the starting price of Rs 20 lakh.

BYD e6 Facelift

Another electric vehicle that is expected to launch in September is the BYD e6. Although it has been in the market for quite some time, it has not attracted many customers. To boost its sales in India, BYD has decided to introduce the facelift model, which was recently unveiled at the GIIAS (Indonesia Auto Expo). The automaker has already teased the headlights of e6 facelift, and we can expect its launch later this month.

The most anticipated launch in September is the compact sedan from Maruti Suzuki, the new Dzire. The new Dzire features refreshed styling inspired by the recently launched 4th-generation Swift. The facelift model may include features like a sunroof and a 360-degree camera, as seen in various spy shots captured during testing. We can also expect the new Z-series engine under the hood, similar to the one in the Swift. Although the official launch date for the Dzire has not been revealed, it is expected to be on 15 September.

Nexon CNG

Tata’s innovative twin-cylinder technology, designed to offer more usable boot space in CNG cars, has garnered considerable success, leading other manufacturers like Hyundai to adopt the similar technology. Tata’s CNG lineup already includes the Tiago and Tigor models with twin-cylinder CNG technology and now Tata is going to introduce a CNG powertrain for the Nexon with dual cylinders. This CNG variant was already showcased at Bharat Mobility Show and is expected to launch this month. The Nexon CNG will be available with both manual and automatic transmission options, catering to a broader range of customers. However, aside from the addition of the CNG powertrain, the new variant is not expected to feature any upgrades in terms of technology, interior, or exterior design elements. The focus will primarily be on providing an economical and environmentally-friendly alternative for compact SUV buyers who prioritize fuel efficiency without compromising on boot space and practicality.
